Muiderberg English

A 5-minute walk from the B & B takes you to the beautiful sandy beach on the IJmeer. Beach pavilion De Zeemeeuw has an outdoor terrace with a beautiful view. Great to sit and enjoy the sunset. You can rent a sailboat, surfboard or canoe per hour/part of the day at the watersports centre Muiderberg.

Also at a 5 minute walk you will find a baker, greengrocer, butcher and supermarket in case you want to cook your own breakfast or dinner. The village also has four restaurants, each with its own ambiance.

Across the B&B is a little forrest: the Echobos. It has a wall built in the 18th century that provides a ‘‘simultaneous echo’.

According to some this echo can also be heard in the garden of the B&B (– time spent on the terrace can be an influence here.)

In the early days people came from Amsterdam for a swim in the Zuiderzee. They travelled by steam tram, called the Gooische moordenaar (Killertrain) because of the many accidents. On the Brink, there is now a miniature of the tram. The B&B is a good starting point for walking and biking tours.

Attractions in Muiderberg  are: the Jewish cemetery (guided tours), a working windmill, Kerk aan Zee, echo-wall and the Floris V-stone.
